The Vision

God gave you a vision,
A plan from above.
The idea was His,
Given in love.

Though others didn’t see it
And many more disbelieve it,
His guiding hand still leads,
Although the path lacks ease.

When brothers betray you
And those thought friends forsake you,
When the dearest deny you
And the nearest negate you,

When the way gets unclear
And the Voice you no longer hear,
When the road gets more difficult
And the vision seems invisible,

Just remember, in the midst of the journey,
The vision was never yours, so do not yield to worry.
The plan, the path, the way He brought you on
Was meant to bring about His desire all along.

So never doubt in the night
What God clearly showed you in the light.
Draw closer to the One
Whose work in you is not yet done.

Remember the vision He gave you,
Even when what’s next evades you.
The Lord is working His plan everywhere
And will bring you to those who will share.

So don’t forsake the vision.
Let not disbelief deter you,
Nor loneliness mislead you.
He will accomplish what He has given: the vision.
